Todd P. Mangione DO

Dr. Mangione is a native Floridian and attended Florida State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biological Science.  He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002.  Dr. Mangione completed his internship training at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida in 2003.  In 2007, he completed his residency training in General Surgery at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital in Detroit, Michigan which had affiliations with Henry Ford Hospital and Detroit Medical Center. 

During his 5 years of surgical training, Dr. Mangione developed a strong interest in cosmetic surgery and chose to go beyond the usual surgical residency training and spent an additional year of cosmetic surgery fellowship training, with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Indianapolis, Indiana following his full surgical residency.  The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is the largest multidisciplinary educational organization devoted exclusively to cosmetic surgery. 

His fellowship training was under the guidance of Dr. Robert F. Jackson, MD and Dr. Timothy Gillum, MD, both, who are double-board certified and have a combined 40 years expertise in Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Jackson is one of the past presidents of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a world renowned speaker and author on countless cosmetic surgical topics and has been the Keynote Speaker at numerous conferences here and abroad.  Dr. Gillum is also a leader in the field of Head and Neck Surgery with a focus in cosmetic and reconstructive work.

Dr. Mangione's training and talents have allowed him many opportunities to excel in the field of Cosmetic Surgery. He has a special interest in body contouring after weight loss that occurs following bariatric surgery.  During his fellowship, Dr. Mangione co-authored research on low-level lasers and their use for reducing breast pain after augmentation and their use for non-invasive body contouring, both of which have received FDA approval.

Dr. Mangione has recently joined Dr. Matthew Bagan, DO in Port Charlotte, Florida and is specializing in General Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery.  He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.  He is co-author of a chapter on Complex Body Shaping of the hips and the use of Fat Grafting Techniques in the upcoming textbook of Autologous Fat Transfer edited by Dr. Melvin Shiffman due out December 2009. 

Dr. Mangione is currently board eligible in General and Cosmetic surgery and is actively completing the board certification process.
